God s gifts

Have you ever watched a sunrise
that left you filled with awe?
A miracle of colors,
a beauty, without flaw.
Or sat beneath the stars on a
clear and peaceful night
And glazed into the heavens
Stuck in wonder at the sight.
Do rainbows sometimes take you
to a special magic place?
Of leprechauns and pots of gold
and satin, silk and lace?
When hearing children laughing
does their beauty touch your soul?
Their biggest fear is that this year
Santa might bring coal!
These times of awe and wonder
and magic without fear
are gifts that God bestows on us
to help us through each year.
And though I often miss these things
with hardened points of view,
these wonders all came back to me
the day that I met you!
