UNTIL LATER MOTHER OF MINE

(Mi madre en Cuba, fue maestra de mecanografia, taquigrafia e ingles, por eso hago mi poema para ella en esta english translation)
When I entered the hospital room
your eyes remained open
and I felt very sad
because I could not utte a final "I love you".
I gave you a beloved son'skiss,
your skin was cold,
your breath had teminated,
your heart beat no more.
It was a long wait, to say goodbye,
goodbye to your life, taken
by a sickness that revaged
your laughs, tears and happiness.
Today I can only wait
for God to hold you in his memory
and in his resurrection for you to rise
in eternal paradise.
Free from sickness and pain,
without suffering, without death;
full of peace and love
and to have your as my family forever.
Until later, is my phrase to you
for soon we will be in God's kingdom
and together we will all live happy there!
