Poem No. 50-A

HOPE

I

Why give way to depression?

Why give way to disillusionment?

Why not channel our actions

counting all our blessings?

II

While there is life there is hope

if we choose for love and temperance,

if we put our faith in God and raise our praises to Him

sure that the desired happinesswill reach us.

III

Never give up our dreams

We are the sole owners of our destiny.

Let´s make true our highest aspirations

with confidence and joy, without sorrow or grief.

IV

Each morning upon awakening

go out into the world to conquer,

dont let anyone steal the illusion,

let´s live with passion and conviction.

V

Life is too short and rueful

to invest in pain, crying or melancholy,

let´sdecide to be happy TODAY

andto the future, with joy,let´sgive it welcome.

VI

We always have to fight for our ideals

and in that never cease.

Fairness and justice must shine permanently

and for them, standing, wehaveto work.

VII

The truth and solidarity should be our flag,

fervently defend them in the best way;

this is how I choose to live,

fighting for my ideals is how I want to die.
