POEM # 39-A
ODE TO THE ECUADORIAN ROMANTIC GENERATION
Life without you I do not want.
For you, my love, I'm dying.
Beside you I want to be forever
because to someone else I could never love,
although for your love I do have to torture myself.
I was born to be yours
and now that I found you
I will not let you go;
without you, I would die,
but that I can not consent.
I remember how vehemently I loved to read, when I was a young lady,
the verses from Medardo Angel Silva and Dolores de Galindo;
for me there are no better quotes
to paraphrase their poems and all that they have immersed
contents of impossible loves, of perverse loves.
I am a poet of the XXI Century
but I also belong to the ecuadorian romantic generation,
known as the decapitated generation;
and even against my existence I would not attempt,
I would not hesitate, for love, to give my life .
